I took Ethan on his first fishing trip today. We went down to the State Park and rented a row boat. This is the first time I’ve ever really been small lake fishing and I have to admit that all those summers at Lake Champlain spoiled me. We SAW a lot of fish, but the only ones biting were too small for our hooks and they just nibbled out worms off. There were some very large trout, but apparently I don’t have any lures that they’re interested in. I’m just so used to bass, sunfish, perch and rock bass who will eat anything.
We still had a great time and went for a swim at the beach afterwards. I definitely plan to take Ethan again this summer, but I’ll need to do some homework first and find out what these fish will eat. Here’s Ethan on the dock before our expedition.
