Alpacas, goats & chickens
I found a local small farm through a yahoo freecycle/bartercycle group and my kids have had a great time playing with the animals and getting fresh eggs (in a variety of fun colors). I am in love with the alpacas, they are super cute and soft for one thing. The best discovery is that they only go to the bathroom in one spot! How convenient, you don’t need to worry about stepping in anything. Someday when I have extra $ I need some! The goats aren’t so considerate about where they go potty but they make up for it by letting the kids pet them and being very cute also. The boys take after me with their love of the chickens but we haven’t worn down John enough to get our own yet. I figure I’ll wait until the kids are a little bigger and then just bring some home by accident some day. For now I’ll be good and just call and set up another visit to our friendly farmer soon.
