Chased by Dinosaurs review

A few weeks ago I reviewed the Prehistoric Park series that is on Animal Planet and also available on DVD. Ethan and Ben LOVE this series so we decided to get the Chased By Dinosaurs (part of the Walking with Dinosaurs series) DVD for Ethan’s birthday. The Amazon reviews were spot on and this DVD is a huge hit with our dinosaur crazy boys.

The DVD contains five 30 minute episodes and follows Nigel Marven as he travels back in time looking for some of the largest and strangest dinosaur.  The CGI effects make it all believable and Nigel’s enthusiasm is contagious.  The shows are handled just like a real documentary.  It amazes me how quickly Ethan picks up the dinosaur names and watching these shows has led to a lot of creative play with his dinosaur collection along with a couple matchbox jeeps.

I have often looked up pictures and more information on dinosaurs using Google and Wikipedia to show the kids. TodayI discovered a Wikipedia entry for the Chased by Dinosaurs show that has links to entries for every dinosaurs featured in the show! A great find since I had no clue how to spell Therizinosaurus.  There is also an entry for Prehistoric Park which lists all the dinos seen in the show.  A great way to follow up on the show with some more info for the kids.
