Book review: Disney’s Little Einsteins, A Swooping and Whooping Adventure!

0

We were given a Little Einsteins Play-a-Sound book by Publications International to review on our blog (so far we have had 3 free offers to review products and it’s VERY exciting). In the book, the Little Einsteins help a baby whooping crane migrate south. The book has a bunch of sound effects buttons and a steering wheel that makes noise when you turn it. We read the book while Jamie was napping so I could do something special with just the boys (and because she likes to grab books). After I read it once I asked “what do you guys think of this book?”. Ethan answered “I like it, lets read it again.”

Little EinsteinsAfter I read it the second time I gave it to Ethan to “read on his own” and of course Ben wanted to have it. So I told Ethan to read it to Ben and then Ben could read it to Ethan after. They took turns (with minor squabbling) and both “read” and steered the rocket ship twice. When I read the book to both of them I held it so we didn’t do any steering, but when each of them held the book they did a lot of steering and stayed on each page longer than I did. At one point Ben said “lets go on a mission” and then started steering excitedly.

I have to say I was nervous reviewing a product we received for free this way. I thought if I didn’t like it I’d feel guilty writing that, but luckily the boys liked this book a lot more than I anticipated. They have only seen the Little Einsteins a few times (I try to limit the amount of TV they watch) but that didn’t seem to matter. If your kid is into any of the movies or shows that inspire these books I’d say it would be a big hit, but my boys have proven the books can be enjoyed even if you aren’t very familiar with the characters. These books would also be great to bring in the car.

Check out the other titles that are available and the other types of books like sing along! Each book is under $20. It seems that their website doesn’t list all the titles, for example I found a Shrek one on Amazon and several others I hadn’t noticed on their site.

*Come back tomorrow for our contest to win a brand new Play-a-Sound book of your own!
