Winter is for kids
Winter has taken hold in the northeast a little early this year and I have to admit that I’m loving it. A lot of people complain about the cold and the sloppy weather, but I absolutely love seeing the change in season and the beauty of all the snow and ice. Winter simply appeals to the part of me that never grew up. It is a season that is only truly appreciated by the young. I have so many wonderful memories of sledding, snowball fights, bike jumps into snow banks, snow forts, skiing, skating, and of course snow days. I don’t have any memories of winter being cold, only of it being fun and I’m doing my best to make sure my kids don’t stay inside all winter, but get outside and have some fun themselves.
Our backyard ice rink is a big part of our Winter fun and this past weekend we had our first game.

My next winter kid project will be putting together a sled ramp to give the kids enough of a start to sled down our yard.
