Basketball season begins

Ethan started his first season of basketball a couple weeks ago, playing in our town’s league. I was nervous that he would be really shy again, but I should have known better. Ethan absolutely loved it! After all, it’s just a bunch of kids in a gym playing ball. Several of the kids he already knew from his soccer team and his new coach was very nice and ran a fun practice for the kids. With only 8 kids there was very little line time waiting their turn to do a drill so the kids were on the go almost non-stop for over an hour.
After that first practice, Ethan and I worked on his dribbling. We used whatever ball we had handy and practiced in our family room. It’s really amazing how 30 minutes of practice can make such a difference. He could only dribble a couple steps the first and made it all the way across the gym during his second practice. I’ll have to take the boys to a college basketball game this winter so they can see how the ‘big kids’ play.
