Unplugged Project: Music

I was disappointed the Unplugged Project was Music this week because I couldn’t think of anything creative to do! I don’t play any instruments but it would be nice if the kids decided to someday. So I just got out the bucket of instruments and told them it was time for music in bed. I gave Ethan the challenge of seeing how many different instruments he could do at once. I’d say we had about 15 minutes of music in bed and now the instruments have spread out throughout the house. As long as I’m not on the phone or in the car I don’t mind all the crazy noise. Aren’t my little noisemakers cute!

*12:52 update, we’ve been singing this for what seems like hours:

“Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd.
Buy me some peanuts and cracker jack,
I don’t care if I never get back,
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
If they don’t win it’s a shame.
For it’s one, two, three strikes, you’re out,
At the old ball game.”

  1. How much fun is that! Sometimes the best thing is to just let the kids do what they want and use their own imaginations!! Great idea!

Your noisemakers are very cute, and so are the instruments they are playing. It looks like they had a lot of fun!

Even if you didn’t feel creative… at least you got more cute pictures to share! And I’m sure they had fun.

Looks like they had fun :-)

  5. Sorry this week’s theme didn’t inspire you (“fabric” was my hard one), but I think that letting the kids have at it with some instruments was an excellent idea. Sometimes the best activities are the unstructured ones. It looks like they are having a very musical day!

Oh what a sweet day. So much fun.

I love the idea of “music in bed.” Too cute. Maybe you could make some cracker jacks or something to go with your song? That might be fun too. Those egg shakers are beautiful, by the way. :)
