Whistlefritz Spanish for Beginners DVDs

I would love to be bilingual and have my kids get the opportunity to naturally learn multiple languages. Unfortunately my husband and I only speak English and my high school Italian and the French he took aren’t fresh in our minds. I am a firm believer in learning a second language early but I’m not sure how to best expose the kids to one. The Whistlefritz DVDs seem to be a step in the right direction.
We received the DVDs Los Animales and Vamos a Jugar on a day that the boys weren’t feeling so great so it was good timing to pop them in and test them out straight away. Ethan is 5 1/2 and I was not sure from the brief clip online if he’d think they were too babyish but he didn’t. He was laughing at the silly moments and best of all he was repeating the Spanish words when the kids on the DVD said them. He never was one of those kids to answer the silly questions on TV shows so this really surprised me. 3 yr old Ben seemed to enjoy the videos as well but he didn’t repeat any of the Spanish words. Both boys watched each video on several occasions now and they have reacted the same each time. I ask Ethan if he knows what the words he is saying mean and he gets them about 1/2 right.
I am happy with the quality of the videos and the exposure they are giving my kids to hearing people speaking Spanish. These are Spanish immersion videos (not a teach your child Spanish course) and I think they do their job well. I just wish I knew of a good way to offer my kids more, such as a local class aimed at teaching young kids Spanish or a good computer program (if anyone has suggestions please share!). I’ll try my local library when I go to return my overdue books sometime, but I definitely want to use these DVDs as a springboard to the kids learning Spanish! I’d also love for Whistlefritz to make more Spanish DVDs for added variety.
Thanks Whistlefritz and Parent Bloggers Network (this is our first review through them) for giving our family the videos to review, we are enjoying them and learning!
*Parent Bloggers Network is giving a set of the DVDs to a random person who signs up for their mailing list through the end of March.
