Mink, Hawks, and Vultures oh my!
I had an eventful commute to work today and spotted numerous animals. A first for me was seeing a mink running across the road from one pond to another. I thought it was a large, skinny squirrel at first until I got a closer look.
Once I was on the highway I started looking at the trees and was rewarded with 4 red-tailed hawk spottings. This is a great time of year because they are easy to see with the leaves off the trees.
When I was close to work I spotted several turkey vultures circling…a bit ominous, eh?
After work I have a long drive to a volleyball game and I should have plenty of sunlight to look for more hawks or maybe an eagle. I’ll have to bring the camera with me to work sometime so I can try and get pictures of these birds. They are really magnificent and it makes going to work seem a little better when I can look forward to seeing these creatures on the way.
