No Noisy Gifts Allowed!

1

I hear other moms complain about what the grandparents buy their kids and I feel pity but I’m fortunate that I don’t really have anything to add to the conversation! Now I can tell these friends about The Grandkids Gift Guide that I just learned about from the Parent Bloggers Network. They can use this site to tip off their parents about what presents to get the grandchildren.

My family and my husband’s both either ask us what out kids need/want or they pick gifts that aren’t noisy and annoying (with only a few exceptions like the electronic flute thing!). Its really nice when the grandmothers ask us for gift ideas but I know its fun for them to pick things out on their own so I try not to give suggestions unless they ask. I can’t think of anything that the kids have received from their grandparents that John and I really had a big problem with (if there had been anything it would have ended up going to Toys for Tots or something). I know some grandparents must have it in for their son/daughter in law but I think a lot of parents are overly picky and hard on their own parents when it comes to gift buying. I try to put myself in their shoes a little because I know when I am a grandma that I will really enjoy picking out things for the grandkids!

*Now that I’m thinking of gifts for my kids I have a few on our wish list that I’ll share:

  • 3 or 4 large size bilibos in various colors would be fun, watch this video!
  • plain white socks from target (okay that would be MY request obviously)
  • hair bows/barrettes for Jamie that are good for fine hair
  • an all plastic doll that can get wet in the tub and pool without getting moldy
  • Star Wars Legos
