Bye Bye Satellite TV, Hello Water Balloons
John decided to ditch our satellite dish (literally, he threw it off the roof) and put up an antenna instead. We are picky about the tv we watch and all major networks come in beautifully now except we don’t get NBC. We also get PBS now which wasn’t on our satellite before. Anything else that we watch (Eureka, Pysch & Monk mostly) we will buy from Amazon and download. He bought us some new TIVOs that work with the antenna so our viewing shouldn’t change that much. The only big problem is with the boys, they are not happy about losing the Smurfs! The kids go through phases (this is mainly led by Ethan) of just wanting to watch ONE show and it has been Smurfs for a few months. He never asks to watch anything else and we can’t get it now unless we rent it from Netflix. Not sure what to do with him, hopefully I can switch his interest to Arthur which is on PBS! In the meantime I gave the boys some water balloons the night John took off the satellite (he needed a little payback now that I have to deal with the fallout from losing the Smurfs).

The switch to satellite was actually pretty easy. I plan on writing a more detailed post soon on what we did and how its working. I LOVE the new TiVos, miss having more channels, but really dig the Amazon download. Still trying to figure out how to share video between my mac and the TiVos.
