WIN an Earthlust Stainless Steel Water Bottle

113

I have put it off for awhile but I am now ready to take the plunge and switch to metal water bottles for our family. When I started looking for new bottles it annoyed me that Sigg (and Klean Kanteen) seemed to be the only options. I wanted more choices so I searched online and found Earthlust stainless steel water bottles. At first I thought the name was silly sounding but I got past that when I looked closer at the bottles. These are quality bottles with BEAUTIFUL designs on them! I was very excited to be able to test a few out and here is what I found:

  • They keep your water tasting great, even after its been in there awhile (no yucky chemical taste if you put your drink in the fridge the night before so its great for packing ahead of time).
  • With stainless steel there is no worry like with plastic bottles (even the BPA free plastic ones could have something else bad in them).
  • The bottle is easy and comfortable to drink from, its like drinking from a Snapple bottle but smooth because there are no screw top threads on the outside.
  • All of the Earthlust designs are Earthy yet sophisticated. I just love the look of them, they’re much more fun than a solid color bottle! They aren’t girly though so John can take them to work without feeling weird.
  • They come in three sizes to meet everyone’s needs! Depending on my plans I use the 13 or 20 ounce bottle and love them both.
  • I like the clip on the lid, it doesn’t get in the way of opening/closing because its on a metal loop and not directly through the cap top. The clip is great for attaching to a tote bag or to clip to your car keys so you don’t forget your water (I use the clip both of these ways a lot).
  • It doesn’t leak!!!! This is BIG for me, I have had bad experiences with Nalgene bottles that leaked and with the Earthlust bottle I can just throw it in my bag without fear of that happening.
  • You can get it with a sports cap and that is great too because I wouldn’t use a screw cap for the kids to take to school. The sports top hasn’t leaked for me and its nice when you are on the go or for kids.
  • These bottles are also priced very well in my opinion!

Earthlust compared to other metal water bottles:

  • We also have one Sigg bottle for our 2 yr old and I am sorry I bought it. It was cute and pink and I thought it would be great but the Sigg neck is too narrow to fit the skinny ice cubes from our ice maker (they go in the Earthlust bottles perfectly) and I hate how the kids lid is on a hinge and gets in our daughter’s face when she drinks. I also think the Earthlust sports top is much nicer because it pulls up and down instead of twisting like the Sigg and that is more straight forward for a little kid. For an adult drinking without the top I also don’t like the Sigg as well, the opening of the Earthlust bottle seems much smoother to me with the rolled down edge.
  • Our kids also each have a Klean Kanteen and I am very happy with them for the kids with the sports top but because the Klean Kanteen neck is much wider I don’t like drinking out of it as much for me with the top off and the sports top makes a sort of chirping sound (which the boys love about it) but I personally don’t want to chirp when I drink. The Klean Kanteen is also just plain metal and I really prefer the painted Earthlust designs!
  • So to sum it up I like the Earthlust MUCH better than the Sigg because I NEED ice in my water and I don’t like the kid’s tops on the Sigg at all. With sports tops, I like the Earthlust and Klean Kanteen pretty equally for the kids use (I think the Klean Kanteen is slightly better for my kids because its sports top lid is a little easier for little kids).  I prefer the Earthlust for my own use over the Klean Kanteen for aesthetic reasons and because I like the neck opening of the Earthlust best for drinking with the screw top lid.

I love the 2 designs (below) that I got and its hard to share them so I mainly use them for myself!

I really like the 20 oz. red one.

We went out the day the new Nalgene’s were released. I like the childrens bottle for our toddler – it has a sippy cup style lid. We actually have been known to use her lid on our bottle so that we only have to tote one! We really don’t like the standard sporty-type lid on the tall bottles, which are the ones we bought. It doesn’t seem to stay closed.

Thanks for the tip on these bottles. I might pick a couple up this weekend!
