Hockey boys!
John has been taking the boys to most of their hockey practices but today we all went and it was great to see! Both of them were so smiley and skated really well. It was a fun morning. Just wish I was a better photographer to capture it!

It;s harder than you might think to get pics on a sheet of ice! I think it’s all of the light both above and below the skaters. (My brother still plays and I can’t get any good shots with my daughter.)
They’re adorable on the ice! I can’t wait until my daughter gets out there – though it’s probably about two years away!
I’ve had better luck going all manual with the digital SLR. Faster shutter speed, adjust the white balance and f-stop. I don’t know enough to know why these changes help, just doing trial and error. Even with good setting I end up deleting at least 75% of the pictures. I think part of our problem is that we have an old telephoto lens and its not very fast. The boys are skating better so its hard to get shots when they’re moving.
