Rain Out
I had a great practice with boys Wednesday night in our front yard, but their game last night was rained out. That’s the big downside to baseball in NY. Spring weather is unpredictable and frequently wet. I was hoping to get some more great photos, but instead I’ll post some video I took their first game.
Ethan taking some cuts. The poor kids had the sun right in their eyes. Ethan has a nice swing and has done well considering this is his first coach-pitch league.
Ben needs a little work on his swing. He did great Wednesday night after I told hi to swing so fast he can hear the bat. He likes to add his own sound fx while batting…and fielding…and running. The kid cracks me up. Make sure to watch the whole clip and see the reaction speed on the last pitch.
The amazing thing with Ben is his attitude. He loves playing with the older kids and it doesn’t phase him that he’s slower than everyone else. Other parents occassionally refer to the boys as “the twins” and I have to mention that Ben is the not only younger than Ethan, but also the youngest on the team. During one practice the coach was having the kids race around the bases and Ben came running towards me at 3rd base with a huge grin and yells “I’m slow, but I only have one speed!”
