Clementine Art – natural art products for kids!

natural_soy_crayons_imageAs a former art student and elementary art teacher turned stay at home mom to 4, I have lots of experience with art materials and there are a lot out there that are just not healthy (especially for adults) … even pretty dangerous. Products made for kids are supposed to be “non-toxic” but Clementine Art takes it to a whole other level by making high quality, natural, environmentally responsible products that any parent can feel safe giving to their children!  All ingredients are listed and it gives you some peace of mind when your little one decides to eat that crayon! I was given a box of natural soy crayons to review from Clementine Art and I think they are great. IMG_0199IMG_0192

My 3 yr old Jamie is the one I gave them to and here are my thoughts watching her use them:

  • The shape is excellent for preschoolers! She holds it so much easier than a regular crayon. Would be great for kids who have trouble grasping regular crayons.
  • NO paper wrappers for her to peel (she was a big wrapper peeler when she was 2 but still does it sometimes and ugh does it get to me!)
  • The colors are so nice…and natural looking! Very bright and cheery.
  • SMOOTH, they glide well over the paper leaving rich trails of color!
  • The chunky shape holds up pretty well, with over a month of use we have only had one break (from dropping on the floor). Regular crayons often break in a child’s hand when coloring energetically.

Clementine Art makes a lot more than just the Soy Crayons (dough, paint, markers, glue), check it out! Oh and I am in love with all of their products colors, just puts you in a good mood looking at the paint colors!

I am also very intrigued by these Rock Crayons!
