I always like to see companies making at least a little effort to do good things. The One Laptop Per Child program is a good one. Right now, we send our charity dollars to Mayan Families, which helps poor families in rural Guatemala, and of course every time we make a donation the kids and I talk about what that means for our family.
I show my kids by example! I volunteer at a soup kitchen, and I foster kittens for our shelter. Kids learn best by example.

I just looked at the website for One Laptop per Child and love their mission. I believe education is the way out of poverty and that everyone needs that opportunity.
What a great promotion! I encourage my children to help others by going through their toys each spring and they pick out the toys they have outgrown and we take them to our local Goodwill. We also donate one gift per child each year at Christmas to the Angel Tree and they feel so proud picking out their present to donate.
