Win a Lawry’s “Get Grilling Kit”

Lawry’s and My Blog Spark sent us a “Get Grilling Kit” that included both of the new Lawry´s marinades – Tuscan Sun-Dried Tomato and Szechuan Sweet & Sour BBQ – a set of metal skewers and a big glass marinating dish with a lid. Yay, they will also provide another package for me to give away to one of you! We aren’t huge grillers but we’re going to work on it now that we have some new supplies. I used to be a vegetarian for many years and John doesn’t cook much but having appealing marinades like these gives you some grilling confidence (even if we end up overcooking things they will still have good flavor!). So we haven’t tried them just yet BUT they sound so good and I didn’t want to wait any longer to post the giveaway!
Lawry’s newest marinades allow you to infuse your meals with exotic flavors. The Tuscan Sun-Dried Tomato Marinade features extra virgin olive oil, sun-dried tomatoes, sweet red bell peppers and the perfect blend of herbs. The Szechuan Sweet & Sour BBQ Marinade gives meat a delicious sweet and sour flavor with a touch of Szechuan heat. Take your family´s grilled dinner to the next level – Try Lawry´s Tuscan Grilled Lamb Chops with Warm White Beans Provençal recipe featuring the new Tuscan Sun-Dried Tomato Marinade tonight! Make sure the meat is of even thickness before you put it on the grill.
Let the grilled meat “rest” for a few minutes before cutting into it. If you cut it before that, all the juice runs out and the meat will be dry.
My fave tip esp on these 100+ days is grill enough chicken (or whatever) to toss on salads for the rest of the week.
Best grilling tip – use marinade!
I like Italian dressing for this.

grease the burners to allow for easier removal of food.
Paint your grill with olive oil first to prevent sticking!
My favorite bbq tip isto use an instant read thermometer to really know when the meat is properly/safely cooked – takes away a lot of the quessing.
Thanks!
put the sauce on towards the end of grilling and serve sauce as a dip
Make sure you are far enough away from the grill when you light it! Thanks for the contest!
If you use wooden skewers for kebabs, soak them for 20 minutes so they don’t scorch.
Grill clean-up is very important especially if you use marinades that have sugar in them….they bake right onto the grill and must be scrapped off – best to clean the grates while still warm
If you are using the wooded skewers make sure that you put them in water for 30 mins- an hour to keep the edges from burning when you grill.
A wireless meat thermometer is a must!
I like to microwave my potatoes briefly before I cook them with the meat of the evening. This helps ensure the entire meal is done at the same time. I also like to season my potatoes often by adding a mayonaise and oil baste to keep the seasonings on when I turn the potatoes.
Clean the grill racks before you begin each time.
don’t be in a hurry if you are doing BBQ. Slow and easy. baste meat with vinegar mixed with whatever rub you used. Takes all day but worth it
season your grates just like you would a cast iron pan.
Make sure to keep kids away from the grill while cooking because it is very easy for them to get burned by touching hot surfaces or hot tools.
I am pretty new to grilling but have found out I love experimenting with flank steaks and different marinades!
Thanks
Grilling tip: Make sure the grill is smoking hot…you should hear the food sizzle.
One of my favorite tips. If you’re going to do ribs, cook them some first in the oven so they’re a bit tender. I tried once to just cook them on the grill and they were way too tough. Thanks.
Do not use a utensil that pierces the meat while cooking. You want to use tongs so the juices don’t run out leaving you with dry meat.
Aw. I wanna leave a tip, but Im new to grilling too!
You should heat the grill up before you put the meat on and then lower the temperature.
getting a good brush for the grill is definatly a plus

Take your time and grill slowly.
I let my meats marinade in the fridge overnight for the best flavor.
Make sure to have one area on your grill that is indirect heat. If one part of the grill gets too hot, you can move the food over to the cooler side.
