Stax logs by Duraflame come in handy -Win some!
Duraflame sent us some Stax fire logs to review over the winter and we were impressed with their performance. When I used to pass the artificial fire logs in the grocery store I’d think they were for lazy people and were bad for the environment but I was wrong! Here is their environmental info, they burn pretty clean since they no longer use any petroleum products in the logs. The best part is that you use much fewer Stax logs and your fire can burn longer than with wood. We used ours during the winter in our wood burning stove and they got burning very quickly and worked great on some of our coldest days. Now that its summer they are great for evening campfires and with Fall approaching they will be perfect to use outside as the weather gets cooler. My only issue with this is that they do not recommend cooking over the Stax and I have a very hard time having a fire outside without making smores! When you need a campfire for warmth though I think these would do a better job than wood and be a lot easier!
Here’s a little background on Stax:
A Stax fire takes just minutes to build without the mess or splinters – check out a demonstration on YouTube
Only three Stax logs are needed for an evening’s fire compared to a 30-pound bundle of wood
In a fireplace, the firelogs produce approximately 50 percent less emissions than an equivalent wood fire
Stax logs are the first Duraflame firelogs designed to burn with multiple logs and are approved for use in a wood stove
Stax are available at grocery and major retailers across the country, including Target and K-Mart. A box retails for $9.99 to $19.99, depending on the bundle size
We have some free coupons to give away so that 2 of you can try Stax for yourself, to enter:

Hey, Heather! We’d love to win some Stax to try in our fireplace this fall, or in the fire bowl if Dave ever finishes that project. The seem kind of neat.
